Riesling Road Trip - Alsace to Mosel

What a grape day sounds like

Riesling… ask any sommelier and they will tell you its either their favourite grape or the worlds best white wine. But for many folks, it's still BLUE NUN !!! On many of my tours the first myth I have to bust is that Riesling is not all sweet and cheap like the kind your gran used to drink. On the contrary, today most Riesling are produced DRY. In saying that I have had many guests sluuurrrprised and delighted by the high quality off dry and late harvest (almost port like) varieties. That is why you need to join this tour to discover one of the wine world’s greatest pleasures. A 3 day adventure discovering the wunderbar world of Riesling in the regions that produce the worlds best Rieslings. We will travel the Riesling wine route from Mosel to Alsace passing through the Rhein valley wine regions of Rhiengau & Pfalz. On this grape escape you will quickly see how Riesling can transform and bloom based on where it’s grown. Of course along the way there will be a chance to taste other local varieties based on your thirst. . Over the 3 days will visit a mix of 9+ wineries for private tastings providing you with many opportunities to swirl, sniff and slurp a range of Riesling in all its glory. We will visit a mix of estates from Old and acclaimed to newer and boutique. Besides refreshments and a little picnic on the go there will be stops at local restaurants to try regional specialties of the wine regions. Let me know if you have any special requests and I can accommodate them into the tour. The starting point of tour can be flexible but I suggest starting from the Mosel, Mainz or Strasbourg. Pick up in Frankfurt is possible. A specific route and plan will be based on where you plan to arrive, stay and depart while you are in Germany. *The prices above covers the 3 days of wine touring, tastings, regional lunch, lunch of wine tapas, special dinner, refreshments and transfers and help to ship your wines home.
